Video devlog #3

An altar built out of barrels and other metal scrap with a chair placed on top, lit by candles.

I created another video devlog to show off some lighting changes I made.

A video showing the lighting changes in Beneath The Order.

Ian Lindsey, who is an experienced game developer with 25 years of professional experience under his belt and a lot of VR experience, too, gave me some feedback on video devlog #2. One was that the style looked quite flat, the other was how to best configure lightmap baking for VR suitable results. I really love the outcome!

The other change visible in this video is transparency support which had gone missing some time earlier. I wish I knew how I reenabled it, but I’m glad it’s back.

The improvised altar in the video is used in the Implantation Ceremony. The Vessel is placed on this chair and a drone approaches them from behind to perform the implantation, while the Subsumed gather around the altar, witness the process, and repeat the verses of a priestess.
